I AM CURRENTLY LOOKING TO RETURN TO THE FILM/TV INDUSTRY IN AN ART DEPARTMENT ATTACHMENT OR JUNIOR CREWING CAPACITY.
I GUESS I WOULD SAY THAT I AM CURIOUS BY NATURE & FIND MYSELF HIGHLY FASCINATED BY THE PSYCHOLOGY OF VISUAL COMMUNICATION & IN PARTICULAR, IT’S USE IN FILM. I LOVE HOW THE INTRODUCTION OF A CHARACTER IS LARGELY CONVEYED BY WHAT APPEARS “IN FRAME” AS THEIR ENVIRONMENT & THE “UNNOTICED” ELEMENTS & DETAILS THAT SPEAK TO US SUBCONSCIOUSLY. WHETHER IT BE THROUGH THE USE OF COLOUR THEORY, THE ARCHITECTURE STYLES & LOCATION, ACCURATE HISTORICAL DETAILING, REALISTIC OR ABSTRACT SET DRESSING & DECORATION & PROP USE. I LOVE IMMERSING MYSELF IN THE MINUTIAE & SPECIFICITY THAT COMES WITH BUILDING A WORLD FOR A CHARACTER.
CLOSE TO 8 YEARS AGO, I TOOK A HIATUS FROM THE FILM INDUSTRY TO FOCUS ON FAMILY LIFE. I WORKED THE “SENSIBLE” CORPORATE 9-5 & WELL… I REALISED THAT LIFE JUST ISN’T THE SAME. I MISS THE CAMARADERIE BETWEEN THE CREW, THE ARTISTIC COLLABORATION & THE REACTIVE PRESSURE COOKER THAT IS FILM LIFE...

THE MAJORITY OF MY PREVIOUS FILM CREDITS HAVE BEEN ROLES IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. HOWEVER, AFTER TAKING SOME TIME OUT, I DECIDED TO LEAVE ACTING BEHIND AS I REALISED THAT THE MOST ENJOYABLE TIMES I HAD WHEN FILMMAKING, WERE THE INSTANCES I WAS WORKING IN A CREWING CAPACITY… & IN PARTICULAR, THE ART DEPARTMENT.
MY LONG TERM CAREER GOAL IS TO BUILD A CAREER AS A BUYER/DRESSER & SET DECORATOR.












IN MY SPARE TIME YOU’LL FIND ME IN MY ELEMENT SOURCING VINTAGE FURNITURE & HOUSEHOLD ITEMS FOR SALE & SET DRESSING, SOURCING BUILDING MATERIAL SAMPLES FOR INTERIOR & EXTERIOR HOME RENOVATIONS, IN MY HOME WORKSHOP CRAFTING PROPS FOR EVENTS, REFINISHING OR BUILDING FURNITURE, PAINTING & SCULPTING. DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION IS MY JAM.
NOW IN MY LATE 30’S, I BRING WITH ME ALMOST A DECADE OF PROFESSIONAL ON-SET EXPERIENCE (HOWEVER, MOSTLY IN-FRONT OF THE CAMERA), A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF “SETTIQUETTE” & INDUSTRY PROTOCOLS, THE ABILITY TO ACCURATELY TAKE DIRECTION, RESPECT OTHER’S ARTISTIC SPACE, INTERPRET & SUCCESSFULLY COMMUNICATE A DIRECTOR’S VISION WITHIN A TEAM, & ANTICIPATE ISSUES BEFORE THEY ARISE BY IMPLEMENTING BACK UP PLANS TO ENSURE PRODUCTION KEEPS RUNNING.
